Down 2 more pounds coming in at 149!

I hit the gym this morning and pushed out 45 minutes of cardio. Yesterday I did 35 minutes and then upper body strength, and man are my arms and chest sore!

I am feeling pretty good and am happy that I am finally losing some weight for my team, Go Team Coral!

Gym all to myself! July 6, 2009

I had the gym all to myself for most of my 45 minutes ARC trainer session….that  was great!

We had a great 4th of July weekend! We got together with friends on Friday to go to the Festa del Formaggio here in my little village. I ate pretty healthy, all but for the frico…..its a slab of delicious fried cheese, but hey its a delicacy here!!

I split one with the husband, so thats not too bad!
The next night we got together with some more friends for the 4th of July celebration at the base. We had a great time and enjoyed the fireworks.

Today I got my workout in, and am feeling pretty great about it. I took the week off for my cycle. It is so heavy and painful….it just makes almost everything unmanageable!

I am back at it this week!

 

Weigh in day! July 1, 2009

Down another pound woohoo, weighing in at 151!

I think this is pretty good considering all the eating I did this weekend, but I also have been putting in more cardio this week than I have in the past.
I did 45 on the arc trainer yesterday, and it felt great! We also have been continuing to eat better and integrate healthier choices into our diets.
So I am feeling pretty good about finally bringing in some numbers for me team. Go Team Coral!

 

A good weekend June 29, 2009

I had a pretty good weekend. Did some partying with friends and some exercising too!

Friday Odessa finally had her spay surgery, and it went well. She was bouncing all over the house by saturday afternoon like her belly had not just been sliced open 24 hours before (EEK).
I woke up on Saturday morning in the mood to exercise, so I went to the gym and pushed out 30 minutes of cardio to the beats of Michael Jackson on my ipod…..Felt great!
We had party plans that night with friends and had a great time. I did not eat too poorly and drank many mojitos. Which in my defense are on the list of Mens Health Healthiest cocktails to order!
We make them fresh too, with our own mint from my newly monkered mojito tree!
We had a great time, and got home super late.

We did not sleep in to much the next day, but it was raining so our hiking plans were again put on hold. It rains every weekend here 😦

My husband got me a cool new gift though…..a shiny new four burner gas grill with a side burner and rotisserie set up!
He knows how much I love my rotisserie chickens!

I told him it would be easier for me to cook up healthy meats if I had a grill to grill on! He is a charcoal griller 100% and we will still eat meat he grills, the old fashioned way. I on the other hand have no clue how to charcoal grill, and I am a little afraid of it…so I am happy with my click it on and grill it way of doing things! I’m getting a pink grilling apron:)

I went to the gym this morning and had a pretty good workout. I bumped my time up to 35 minutes of cardio and I honestly could have gone longer but I forgot my ipod 😦
Next time I am pushing for 40!!!

I wanted to go to the mommy and me class yesterday, but I was fighting a headache all day. Sometimes my nerves get all pinched, and I end up with a really painful headache. I took it easy and tried not to make the situation worse until the meds could kick in and kick it in the butt!

It is probably for the best though. I think I really might have hurt myself at the mommy and me class, at least I think.
I can’t actually remember hurting myself or when it started. I just recall noticing in the last week that when I wash dishes and my lower body is against the counter, I get a little pain, like I was pressing on a bruise. It is in my groin between….well my groin and hip bone….on the crease of the thigh.

I just figured I had bumped into something, b/c I dont remember hurting myself in the class although I dont remember hitting anything either for that matter….but that happens right?!?
It was not bugging me really, only when it was pressed and even then it is not really horribly painful.
Well last night it seemed a little worse, I was feeling on it and I felt a bump or something, I was thinking maybe a lymph node. I went to bed and the bump was gone this morning.
I woke up at 5 pumped up and wanting a workout, so I sucked down some water (I was feeling pretty dry) got the kids up and fed and was out the door at 7 for the gym.
It was so early that no other mother in her right mind was there with her toddler, so the kids had the corral  to themselves. I did 30 minutes on the ARC trainer. I always do the ARC on interval, but today every time it went to incline, I would push it up to 8 or 9 and really climb. It felt great!
Then I walked on the treadmill for about 10 minutes on a 12% incline, but the youngest DD started to get a little fussy so we headed home. On the way home I noticed while I was sitting that the lump was back and it felt a little bigger. Like I had put a marble between the crease in my thigh or something. It is sorta hard to explain, and
I kinda felt a little freaked!

I cant really see a bulge visually, maybe slightly but not much. I started to worry that I might have a hernia or something, and it felt a bit bigger even by this afternoon so I called the doc for an appt. There were none available so they are supposed to call me back in the next 72 hours to discuss, and squeeze me in. Gotta love the military health system! That is either sarcasm or sincerity….I am not sure which!
I really don’t want a hernia…that means surgery eek!
I am hoping it really is just a swollen squishy lymph node….

I got in a great workout today!

No shred, but a mommy and me style class at the gym. The kids played while the moms worked out, somewhat shred style actually.
It went pretty well, but I still find it hard to focus on my workout when my 3 year old is stealing toys and poking another kid in the eye!

Diet wise has been good as well. I have found many creative and delicious healthy recipes, and we have been enjoying them. I made these bean and cheese enchilada’s yesterday that were so good, I just cant wait to have leftovers tonight!

My leg seems to be all recovered but I am still a little scared to get back into the shred. I really dont want to hurt myself again 😦

Despite the lack of activty this past week or so, from me or my scale…another friend commented that I looked thinner! This is a very good thing 🙂
I plan on shredding a few times a week and going to this mommy and me class as well.
I would like to bring in some pounds lost for team at some point in this challenge.

Weigh in! June 10, 2009

Today is the weigh in for the sisterhood and I have not budged…..bummer!

I am not too stressed about it, b/c other people have noticed a difference and I got a few comments this week. I think I can even see a small difference. I also know my body and how it reacts to weights, I put on muscle faster than I lose fat. At some point tho, the weight will just suddenly start dropping off. I just hope it will drop during this challenge so I can pull in some big numbers for the team…Go Team Coral!

My leg in improving slightly, no workout yesterday, but I did walk around the block a couple times. No workout today but I ate very moderately. I have a busy day tomorrow so I am skipping the shred and will throw in a walk for sure. I figure I will give my leg one more day and then ease back into the shredding and hope for the best…..

hopefully the scale will budge a little next week….or a lot!
